Project Management 

Implementing a clearly defined objective within the requested time limit, within the limits of the budget in a standard high-quality way. 

A project can only be managed if the project definition is clear from the start. The expectations with regard to the result, timing and budget need to be clear in order to succeed. Once these are clear, the preparation (both in terms of substance and possible transfer) is crucial before undertaking actions. A mid-term report on the current situation is essential so that no surprises are to be expected at the end of the day. Ultimately  the project is completed and is transferred to the customer and the results are shown/presented. 

What I do on the customer side:

Elaborating specific projects from a to z, provided the expectations on contents, budget and time frame are clear. Changing the contents of a project or advancing the deadline is fatal for a project.  

Achievements: 

  • Consolidation project manager: shifting the production of electronic boards from different Belgian facilities to one production site in Poperinge (B) and one production site in Kladno (CZ) 
  • Self-managing teams: transforming a group of employees into a team with a large degree of self-management, so that they can take decisions within their respective department  
  • Conversion of an old operating theatre (on the 4th floor) of an operational hospital into a nursing ward in less than 10 weeks (from dismantling to accepting patients)

Veelgebruikt model bij Project Management: Waterfall Model

Bij een waterval model geldt het principe dat men niet aan de tweede stap kan beginnen vooraleer de eerste stap volledig is afgerond. Dit model bestaat uit 4 verschillende stappen, namelijk ‘define’, ‘plan’, ‘implement’ en ‘closure’. Men kan dus pas closen vanaf dat de andere drie stappen afgerond zijn. Dit model zorgt ervoor dat een organisatie projectmatig tewerk kan gaan.
